I watch a pastor who often gets dreams from God who had a dream last Friday of a horrific attack by ISIS. He talks about his dream here, but basically he says that in his dream he saw ISIS crossing the border and attacking a ranch in Texas killing everyone there, but in a highly gruesome manner. He also saw that this attack (or attacks) would cause a tremendous level of anger at the federal government for not having done anything to secure our borders, and this will spur militias to take matters into their own hands, which in turn may lead to a severe breakdown of law and order.
Just last week, Australia arrested two men charging them with plotting to do a “demonstration killing”, beheading someone and draping them in the ISIS flag (see CNN report here). Australia took this very seriously:
More than 800 law enforcement officials fanned out across Sydney suburbs as part of a coordinated operation to serve 25 search warrants. “Today’s operation reflects the reality of the threat we actually face,” said Andrew Scipione, commissioner of New South Wales Police.
I also just finished listening to a biography (see here) of an American born Muslim who over years came to learn that much of what he had been raised to believe about Islam wasn’t true. In the end, God gave him a vision and three dreams to lead him to accept Jesus. In one of those dreams, God clearly showed him that Islam is a grand deception that devours people. While he and his family believed in a peaceful version of Islam, he made it clear that is only because they cherry-picked the things they wanted to believe. Other Muslims can just as easily find abundant support in the Koran and the Hadith for the gruesome side of Islam.
Many Muslims are truly very good people, but they have been raised to believe a great lie. Christians have also done horrific deeds, but their actions run counter to what the Bible teaches. Radical Muslims on the other hand can preach from their scriptures and lead their followers to believe that their horrific deeds are commanded by Allah.
And now we are directly at war with these radicals, who have hundreds of millions of dollars and tens of thousands of fighters. The only reason it isn’t abundantly clear that they will attack us, is because we just want the problem to go away and hope it will never happen here. But then they didn’t hesitate to behead the American journalists they captured, and I don’t see why they would hesitate to walk across our borders and do worse here.
We need to ask God how He would have us prepare and what He would have us do. Especially, we need to bring God’s wisdom and peace to potentially volatile situations if this should happen.
