Rabbi Jonathan Cahn has been warning America that it is at risk of judgement from God if we don’t heed the “harbinger” warnings – warnings that God sent to America starting on 9/11. The “harbinger” warning is all based on Isaiah 9:10 which was ancient Israel’s response to their own 9/11. Instead of humbling themselves and repenting, ancient Israel was arrogant, boasting that it would rebuild its ruined buildings stronger and higher than before. Their pride in doing this led to God’s judgement and the total destruction of their land.
And yet America is making the exact same bad choices that ancient Israel made. And our higher and stronger One World tower was just completed this year (including the observatory, “See Forever”).
Rabbi Cahn has also been speaking about a cycle of seven years called the “shemitah”. God told Moses that every seventh year was to be a year of rest for the land. This was meant to be a blessing, but when Israel turned away from God it became a judgement. Amazingly, Jews have counted this cycle of sevens from the time of Moses so they know which year is the seventh shemitah year. It’s not just any seventh year. This is an unbroken cycle going back to Moses.
Importantly, the very last day of the “shemitah” year is meant to be a release of all debt. Just days after our 9/11, the stock market crashed and lost 7% of its value. Amazingly, the crash occurred on the exact last day of the shemitah (Elul the 29th on the Jewish calendar). Seven years later, the market crashed again losing 7% of its value, also on the exact last day of the shemitah. This time however the trading day began with the opening bell refusing to ring (which traders took as a bad sign) and ending with a 777 point loss, ushering in the worst recession in several decades.
Thus, it seems likely that something will again happen at the end of the next shemitah which occurs this September 13th. However, since that is a Sunday, an actual crash would more likely happen the Friday before, which happens to be 9/11.
Jonathan Cahn gave one of his most powerful messages yet on July 29th in San Diego. You can see it here:
The warning is so clear that we cannot say we haven’t been warned. And yet what isn’t clear is what will happen. Will there simply be another warning, or will judgement actually start?
Unfortunately, prophetic voices on this matter are all over the board, with some prophesying the utter destruction of America while others prophesy no judgement, but rather great blessings instead. Amazingly, some prophets on both sides actually say that lying spirits have been sent to deceive the other side (as in 2 Chronicles 18:21)!
Even still, I have seen several themes come up repeatedly. One frequently repeated theme is that what is coming will be a time of both great darkness and great light (Isaiah 60:2). Another common theme is that this will be a “perfect storm”. John Paul Jackson, who was born to be an “eleventh hour” prophet and who passed away this year (indicating his message is now complete), was perhaps the clearest on what this perfect storm may look like (see here). But he was simply shown a series of newspaper headlines (see here). He didn’t know what order these events will happen in or when they will take place.
Another common theme is of shaking. The shaking is what happens when we ignore the previous warnings, and is done as a last resort to wake us up!
Thus, I am expecting this next seven years to be a perfect storm of shakings that is meant to wake up the church, leading us to repentance and the healing of our land (as in 2 Ch 7:14). If we fail to respond, then judgement will surely come, but even the severity of these shakings is largely up to us. The sooner we turn, the sooner the shakings can subside.
We can “appeal to heaven” as Dutch Sheets is calling us to (see here), or we can slide further into darkness and become like Babylon of Revelations 18 that is judged and destroyed in a single day.
So while we don’t know exactly what is coming or when, we certainly do know we have been warned and that we are likely now entering a period of perfect storms and shakings. Over the next seven years, I am expecting these shakings to be numerous and severe. I am expecting there to be riots in many cities and earthquakes. I am expecting there to be martial law and the suspension of elections. I am expecting severe economic downturn and collapse.
And I am expecting revival to break out because of these things.
The thing is that we can either be consumed by fear that the darkness is causing, or we can be filled with hope through God’s light pouring into our lives. The early church suffered much persecution. But it also experienced great hope, power and joy. How we respond to the shaking is up to us. Let’s turn to Him.
But I also had a dream on July 11th.
It was like I was watching a movie being made, where my point of view was what a single stationary camera was shooting. I saw a girl in street clothes running through a city trying to escape someone who was after her. The camera followed the girl running until she came to a stop right in front of the camera. A man who looked like a spy in a dark trench coat was chasing her and came running through a doorway after her. But then I heard the director shout, “Stop! Stop! You’re messing up my scene! Get out of the scene!” The bad guy was forced to turn back and run around the long way. This gave the girl a chance to catch her breath, but she was clearly afraid. While she was standing there I saw more bad guys running past the same doorway the first guy had been at. They carried an easel with a painting on it and placed it directly in the doorway. The painting was a Picasso style painting showing a woman in agony and despair. But I saw the sun shine through the doorway and wash the painting out. Then I head the director shout to the girl that the enemy was once again approaching and to run off down into a train station, and she ran off, as the camera followed her.
My take on this is that God is completely in control. The camera never moved, as if the entire shot was well planned out. But of course, we need to be following His directions. He is clearly our director and we need to heed Him. Next, the enemy may be after us, but God is able to hold them off just long enough for us to catch our breath and get our next direction. And that is especially key. It seems God doesn’t want to give us the entire plan, but just one step at a time, so that we learn to follow Him closely. The enemy has plans as well, and they are for agony and despair. But God fully sees the enemy’s plans. They are not hidden to Him and He can shine light on them and nullify them. I also felt I was seeing a girl running as she seemed innocent and simply believed and followed God. She wasn’t like a guy who would typically be arrogant and think he could get away from the enemy in his own strength.
The key here is that God will help us, but only if we are listening for His directions. We have to be listening to what He is telling us to do. And then do exactly that.
